Trust & Verification

Last updated: May 13, 2026

Every profile on AISURU is a real, verified person. AI is used only to analyze writing and score compatibility — never to generate profiles, impersonate users, or chat on anyone's behalf.

How we verify accounts

Creating an account on AISURU requires passing multiple verification steps before any matching or messaging is possible.

1. Identity-bound login

Every account is tied to one of three verified identities: an email address (confirmed via a one-time code), a Google account, or an Apple ID. There are no anonymous signups, and a single email or OAuth identity can only be used for one account.

2. Phone verification

Every user verifies a working phone number during onboarding via SMS code, powered by Twilio Verify. This is non-optional. Disposable and VoIP numbers known for abuse are filtered. Phone numbers are stored hashed for matching against block lists; they are never shown to other users.

3. Real-photo requirement

A profile photo is required to finish onboarding. The account cannot enter matching or messaging without one. Photos are uploaded by the user — AI-generated photos and stock images are not permitted under our Community Guidelines and are removed when detected.

4. Manual moderation

Every report submitted from inside the app — whether about a profile, a photo, or a message — is reviewed by a human moderator. Confirmed violations result in profile removal and account suspension. Repeat or severe violations result in a permanent ban tied to phone number and email.

How AI is used (and how it isn't)

We use AI deliberately and narrowly. The exact scope:

What AI does

  • Reads your essays to extract personality traits — lifestyle patterns, emotional vocabulary, communication style, values.
  • Scores compatibility between you and other users in your city on four weighted dimensions (lifestyle 35%, emotional depth 30%, complementary differences 20%, values 15%).
  • Checks for authenticity — essays that appear to be AI-generated, copy-pasted, or written by someone else are flagged for review and rejected.
  • Suggests conversation starters to AISURU+ subscribers, drawn from each match's actual essays — never fabricated.

What AI does not do

  • It does not generate profiles. No profile on AISURU is fictional. No essay, no photo, no name on this platform was generated by AI.
  • It does not impersonate users. There are no AI “companions,” no AI chat partners, and no bots that talk to users on anyone's behalf — including ours.
  • It does not send messages for you. Every message in a conversation was typed by the human on the other end. The conversation-starter feature shows suggestions you can choose to send; it never sends on its own.
  • It does not train on your writing. Your essays are used to build your personality profile and find matches. We do not use your writing to train AI models, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

What we're working on

The verification stack above is what's live today. We're also building:

  • Selfie verification. A live-capture selfie compared against your profile photos to confirm you're the person in the pictures. Planned for a future release; this page will be updated when it ships.

If something feels off

Use the Report action on any profile or message inside the app. Reports route directly to our moderation queue and are reviewed by a human, typically within 24 hours. For urgent safety concerns or to report a profile you can't reach inside the app, email safety@aisuru.dating.
